Stephen chooses to make some of his paintings available as Limited Edition Prints. The production of the limited edition run takes a lot of time and patience on the part of the artist and the printer as several proofs will be required in the search for the print which most closely represents the original painting. Proofs which are of sufficient quality may themselves be numbered and sold as Artist's Proofs. This Artist's Proof run could consist of up to ten prints which will be numbered and signed by the artist. The range of Irish Art Prints in our Ardara Art Gallery include Irish landscapes as well as prints from Stephen's many figurative paintings including paintings of Irish pub scenes, traditional music sessions and farm scenes. Visitors on the trip around the wonderful Wild Atlantic Way will be interested in Stephen's paintings of the beautiful Donegal coastal scenes in the gallery with his prints of Slieve League and the Beaches of Portnoo and Rosbeg being among the most popular. Each print in the limited edition range is signed and numbered by Stephen.

As an artist with a special interest in portraiture and figure painting in general, Stephen accepts commissions for portraits which he will undertake in a variety of media to suit the client. The portrait can be undertaken in pencil, watercolour, acrylic or mixed media and the price will depend on the technique chosen by the client.  Stephen is happy to work from live sittings or photographs or a combination of both. Stephen loves to meet his subject and he stresses that sitting for your portrait need not be very time consuming as he can take videos during a sitting to lessen the strain on the sitter. This allows him to finish the painting in the studio without the sitter being available all the time. It is not always possible for the subject to be present as in the case of a loved one who has passed on. If the portrait is to be based on a photo, it is very important that you, as the client, are happy with the photo of the subject. Where more than one subject is to be portrayed in the painting, for example in a family portrait, separate photos of the different subjects may be supplied. Photos supplied must be of a high resolution. Where suitable photos are not available Stephen is happy to take photos of the subject himself.
